About Ling

» Who is Ling and what does she do here?
Ling loves computers. She remembers eagerly playing DOS games as a child (and still does play them, on occasion). She taught herself to write HTML at the age of twelve and has been making webpages ever since. You can see her website at estrella-fugaz.com.
In addition to doing computer stuff, she also enjoys reading, knitting, drawing, and writing in her spare time. She hopes to one day publish a novel, and won NaNoWriMo in 2006 (woo!). She’s also a happy musician, having been singing since practically forever. Her love of both music and books is what drew her to Wizard Rock in the first place. (That, and the fact that a band called Harry and the Potters was an awesome idea.)
Ling is WizardRock.org’s tech person. She designs the site graphics, installs the scripts, and tries to keep everything running smoothly, with some success. Er, mostly.
» What kind of Wizard Rock does Ling like?
Harry and the Potters, of course, as they are a classic, as well as Draco and the Malfoys. She also holds a certain fondness for Hollow Godric. There are many others she enjoys; however, they are too many to list! Check out the bands page for other bands that she likes.
» What does Ling listen to when not listening to Wizard Rock?
Favorite band of ALL TIME: La Oreja De Van Gogh, a band from Spain. She first heard them in Spanish class a few years ago and now has every single one of their CDs (and can sing along to a lot of the songs, too!). They have a great sound and some really good lyrics, si eres hispanohablante.
She also absolutely adores bands in the vein of Superchic[k], Barlowgirl, Zoegirl and Hope 7 and so forth and so on–girlpower rock, to put it simply, as well as some Sarah McLachlan, Michelle Branch, Helen Trevillion, Kate Voegele, Paramore, Kate Rusby, and Sheryl Crow. Occasionally she enjoys Anberlin, Ingrid Michaelson, Kelly Clarkson, Apocalyptica, Bond, Carrie Underwood, Relient K and Tuuli, among many, many others.
And let’s not forget the Les Miserables musical recordings. Oh, no. (And the Muppet Christmas Carol = best soundtrack ever.)
