Despite his constant apologies for his unaccompanied and inadequate recordings, Jerry Cooke has no need to use the spell for which his band is named, Anapneo, leading all who listen to halt in awe. Originally introduced to Wizard Rock by the Switchblade Kittens’ “Ode to Harry,” Jerry (a self-proclaimed Gryffinpuff) found that the songs on that CD, as well as the music of many other Wizard Rock bands was great because it had a strong subtext. Always having enjoyed singing, often finding himself singing Wizard Rock songs in particular around the house, it seemed logical to him to start writing his own Wizard rock lyrics.

Drawing inspiration from a variety of points in the series, particularly the underlying struggle against the dark arts, and the interpersonal relationships between the characters, Anapneo’s vocal parodies show that the Southwestern U.K. is not void of wizard rockers.
