Ever open up a box of Bertie Bott’s Every Flavor Beans and grab a random bean, only to realize after the initial taste that it’s vomit-flavored? There’s always one there because nobody likes the vomit-flavored bean. That is, nobody except Chelsey and Allison of the band Bertie Bott’s Every Flavor Band. Started randomly, as many are, the band originated with Chelsey (from A Petty Pensieve) and her friend Caitlin (from Luna Lovegood and the Crumple-Horned Snorkack), only to have its lineup changed when Caitlin was unable to remain in the band and Allison joined in her place.

With their own experimental style of music and a name that doesn’t limit their material, the Ravenclaw/Hufflepuff duo explains that “We chose this name because it gives us a lot of room to play with different styles of music and different takes on things throughout the books. We’re not limited to one character or scene.”

Writing songs as they come, usually by picking the music they want to write for on their wide arrangement of instrumentations- tambourine, acoustic and electric guitars, accordion, keyboards, synthesizer, and cowbells, the duo sing about whatever interesting scenes and plot points in the books would make a fun song. Providing something for everybody, just as the wonderfully various flavors of beans do, the songs of Bertie Bott’s Every Flavor Band help provide listeners a relaxing laugh every now and then.
