What happens when a group of friends with hobbies ranging from piano playing and singing to novel writing and Dungeon & Dragons takes on writing wizard rock lyrics and music? While Buckbeak’s Revenge started off as a joke, friends Tiffany and Morgan realized how fun it was after writing a few songs, already being fans of such parody and novelty artists as Weird Al and They Might be Giants. With the help of friends, Tom and Gunblade, the Gryffindor/Hufflepuff band takes inspiration from simply playing around with ideas and music, as well as material posted on Morgan’s favorite online Harry Potter roleplaying site, virtual-hogwarts.org. All in all, the main hope of these four aspiring wizard rocking college students is to promote literacy, peace, and Defense Against the Dark Arts.
