Muggle Death Camp
Muggle Death Camp is Jim Wicked’s temporary escape from his primary musical endeavor: The Divine Chemical. Not too long ago, he started working on some harder metal music to try and improve his guitar skills. It was centered around black/death metal stylings with hints of classical and industrial thrown in. He had put together a few such songs, but with no vocals. He just couldn’t bring himself to write the usual pretentious themes that are involved with death and black metal genres.
And then along came the whole ‘Wizard Rock’ phenomenon. Being a Harry Potter fan, he naturally had to check out music based on one of the more interesting literary fables in recent history. Most of these bands are indie-rock and folk oriented with a satirical twist. Being such a devout Harry Potter fan and knowing that most of his friends that are into HP wouldn’t be into this style of music, inspiration struck: Jim Wicked took all of these metal songs he had created, wrote and vocalized some lyrics siding with the Dark Lord and created what he then dubbed VoldeMetal.
As Jim and Dez Wicked have other commitments to TDC, they can’t really do too much for Muggle Death Camp, and therefore will not be able to do any tours or shows to promote the band. However, they have released the ‘Avada Kedavra EP’ for anybody that likes their music and wants a hard copy to purchase. They are sold at CafĂ© Press’s base rate, so they won’t be for profit. Jim won’t have much time to devote to Muggle Death Camp, but the hope is that there will eventually be enough material to release a full album.
