In hope of providing a unique way for visitors to share creative inspiration, connect with other wizard rock fans, and spread the word for our upcoming contest, we decided to get a bit abstract with Facebook’s event feature. Since polls (such as the one on the side of the page) are a bit vague and impersonal, we have designated a Facebook event page specially for this season’s all-medium “If They Met” contest.
Through our Facebook event page, visitors will be provided with a convenient, interactive spot to discuss the contest (including ideas for bands to choose and methods of presentation), team up with others (for those of you who prefer to create things as part of a team effort), and invite your friends to join!
Everyone is invited to participate! That’s right — you do not need an invitation in order to RSVP (you do, however, need a Facebook account).
To “RSVP” to our contest:
Visit our event page here. On the right-hand side of the page, click the link that says “Add To My Events”. Voila! After you add yourself to this event, there are three options to choose from:
- Attending, if you plan on actually participating in this contest (OR even if you can’t participate, but plan on supporting someone else who does plan to participate…or even just plan to swing by the site and root random people on!)
- Maybe Attending, if you’re not quite sure this is your thing, but want to keep an open mind about it.
- Not Attending, if you plan to pass on this contest altogether. We’ll miss you!
Regardless of whether or not you personally have any interest in this contest, if you know anybody who you think might get a kick out of it, please help us spread the word, by clicking “Invite People To Come” on the right-hand side of the page.
REMEMBER! — this contest is an all-medium contest, so whether your skills involve art, music, film, writing, paper maché, or divinely-inspired pictures on burnt toast, chances are, you’ll find some means of expression that suits your personal style.
Hope to hear from you!
NOTE: Please IGNORE “Los Angeles” as the designated city of this contest. WizardRock.Org’s contests are INTERNET-BASED ONLY (meaning, everybody can “attend”).
For technical reasons, Facebook requires a “city” in order to create an event page, so I chose to enter my hometown, as our contest’s deadline (11:59 PM PST, on May 12th) ends within the same time zone.
