WizardRock.Org’s CafePress Shop Has A Hairy Situation…

Thursday, August 30th, 2007

Two new werewolf-inspired product designs have found thier way into WizardRock.Org’s CafePress shop!
Take a trip back to the ’80s with our Alex-inspired singing werewolf, as he howls out an Oingo Boingo song that’s probably better suited for Fenrir… or, support the Brotherly Union for Lycanthrope-directed Larceny, Crime, Riot and Animosity Prevention with a tongue-in-cheek bumper sticker that rivals even Hermione’s brilliant acronyms.

As announced earlier this month, from now through October 1st, ALL PROFITS made from our CafePress shop will be donated:

  • 50% will be donated to The Harry Potter Alliance, to be donated to social justice-related causes and organizations and/or contribute towards funding for future wizard rock and/or HPA-related events.
  • The remainding 50% will be donated to The Remus Lupins, in an attempt to help them replace the $2,000 and two iPods that they lost this August, when thier tour van was burglarized.

If none of our shop’s designs suit your style and you would like to request a new idea for product artwork, please either e-mail me (ashe@sodapopink.com) with your design idea, or discuss design ideas via Rocky The Wizard Rock Ridgeback’s most recent Facebook poll.
If you have found a design you like in our shop, but would like to order it on a different product, again, e-mail me (ashe@sodapopink.com), and I will make the design available especially for you.

   ROCK FOR A CAUSE!

NOTE: If you are interested in this fundraiser primarily for The Remus Lupins, please remember to buy official Remus Lupins merchandise (CDs, t-shirts, etc.) from the band directly, as they make 100% of thier own profits (which eventually adds up to way more than we could probably rake in for them). This fundraiser is intended for people who already own thier fill of official Remus Lupins merchandise and/or want WizardRock.Org stuff to add to thier collections. Give the band top priority!! Thanks!

Announcing The WizardRock.Org First Annual Back-To-School Charity Sale!

Sunday, July 29th, 2007

Summer is half-way over… and as the promise of cool weather and the smell of crisp, autumn leaves slowly begins to approach, students of all ages are eagerly emptying the shelves of stores from Office Depot to Diagon Alley, as they stock up on books and bags and quills and parchment! We’re sure that many of you are planning on hitting the halls in style this year…and what better way to rock into the school year with some novelty accessories that announce your love for wizard rock?

Get ready for The WizardRock.Org First Annual Back-To-School Charity Sale!

In honor of our favorite author’s (and favorite scar-headed hero’s) birth week, from NOW THROUGH OCTOBER 1ST, 50% of proceeds generated from WizardRock.Org’s CafePress store’s sales will be donated to The HP Alliance, the organization that uses metaphorical parallels between the Harry Potter stories and current events to raise awareness for real-life issues, such as AIDS, global warming, and genocide in Darfur.
The money donated is to be spent on raising awareness or funds for charitable causes and/or financing any future charity or wizard rock events in which the HPA sees fit.

Our CafePress store currently carries clothing, journals, buttons, stickers, mugs, steins, mousepads, tote bags, magnets, postcards, and greeting cards. Designs include our early original concept art of our spokesdragon, Rocky the Wizard Rock Ridgeback™, as well as Facebook graffiti-style doodles drawn by Rocky, himself!

If you have any questions or comments, would like to request a particular design on an item in which it is unavailable, or have ideas you’d like to see for new merchandise designs, send an e-mail to ashe@sodapopink.com .

   ROCK ON!

NOTE: This promotion is neither sponsored nor endorsed by the HP Alliance; it is merely a spur-of-the-moment plan intended to contribute to something greater than myself. For official information on the HPA and its goals/causes, please visit the official website. Thanks!

The Whomping Willows Opens T-Shirt Contest

Friday, February 16th, 2007

From The Whomping Willows MySpace blog:

“So, here’s the dilly yo. I’m finally gonna have tee-shirts! They might be available as soon as next Friday at the LaSalles University show in Philly. And they will definitely be available at shows when I tour in May. I’m gonna be making the tee-shirts myself, because that’s how I roll. THE CONTEST: Much like my button slogan contest of a year ago, I want you all to submit an idea for a phrase to appear on the Whomping Willows tee-shirt of your dreams. I will select ONE winner from the pool of entrants, and this person will receive 1) a free tee-shirt and 2) a free copy of my new CD, Welcome to the House of Awesome!.

Please submit your slogan idea via myspace message. Not comment, message! Thanks!!

Love,
Whompy”

WizardRock.Org/Rocky Merchandise Poll

Saturday, November 4th, 2006

There is a new poll, in regards to merchandise designs featuring Rocky. Please take a minute (the poll is a total of eight multiple-choice questions) to answer as bluntly and honestly as possible. Thanks in advance!

EDIT: Alright, I have just realized that the poll page isn’t loading at the moment. The reason is, it is being hosted at my LiveJournal, and LiveJournal is performing some heavy-duty maintenance. As a result, the poll is taking a long time to load, not loading at all, or looking really funky once it does load.
If you are still interested in taking this poll, please just wait it out and check back at another time. I’m sorry for the inconvenience.
